Dear Guitar Friends,

Thanks to everyone who came out for the fabulous festival on May 11^th! What a wonderful range of guitar styles, top flight concert artists, events, and ukulele music we had, all of which got great feedback! The next Guitar Society Meeting is Monday June 3^rd 7-9PM

Venue: Odd Fellows Hall, Corvallis
Free & Open to the Public

The featured concert for this meeting will be the OSU Guitar Ensemble directed by our wonderful local maestro Cameron O’Connor combined with solos and duets by the ensemble members.

The June 3^rd meeting will also include our OPEN GUITAR ENSEMBLE SESSION. We will be reviewing some of the music we have played so far this year in anticipation of the winter concert series later on in the year.  The music is already posted to the website so check out the scores online (scroll down to see the ensemble scores), download the parts you would like to play and bring them along to the meeting with your guitar and join in! EVERYONE is welcome and the scores include parts suitable for all levels of playing.

7:00 – 7:05 pm Welcome
7:05 – 7:45 pm Open Guitar Ensemble: check out the music and download from the website.
7:45 – 8:10 pm Open Stage: share your music with us – all solo guitar styles (or ensembles) and all abilities welcome.
8:10 – 8:20 pm BREAK and Refreshments
8:20 – 9:00 pm Featured Concert: OSU Guitar Ensemble directed by Cameron O’Connor

Entrance is FREE and open to the public (donations gratefully received).

Location: Odd Fellows Hall, 223 SW 2nd St, Corvallis, OR 97333. The entrance is between New Morning Bakery and Sedlaks Boots and Shoes.

Looking Forward..

Now we have reached the summit for the first half of the year with the wonderful Guitar Festival and the last Society meeting on June 3rd, the Guitar Society will take a break over the summer. We will get back together again on Monday September 9^th with our Guitar Society meeting kicking off the Fall series of activities and events. More details will follow regarding the schedule.

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you on June 3^rd at our Guitar Society Meeting, and have a great summer!
