OSU Guitar Program
I am very pleased to announce that OSU School of Arts and Communication has established a guitar program with Cameron O’Conner as the new guitar instructor. Cameron is a true maestro of classical guitar with a diverse career in solo, chamber, and contemporary music as well as a prizewinner in 10 international competitions. He is strong believer in the importance of the accessibility of arts for the public and we look forward to working with him to continue growing the classical and related guitar scene here in the greater Willamette Valley area. In the meantime, check out his website including some great performances on YouTube:

You can also go watch Cameron play live at the OSU Music a la Carte lunchtime concert Series on October 20th as well as being part of the Faculty concert on October 13th. Details can be found at:

Plus, check out his teaching program poster which includes private & group lesson opportunities for the general public.
Next Guitar Society Meeting Monday October 2nd
We will continue this season’s first Monday sessions with our Guitar Society Meeting October 2nd.
We will be playing ensemble music including looking at what we plan to play at the December 16th Concert at the Corvallis Library. There will be an open stage session as usual for people to get up and share their music with us – all acoustic guitar styles are welcome.
I am delighted to announce that our featured artist for September will be Scott Kritzer from Portland.
Scott is a nationally renowned performer and pedagogue in the world of classical guitar with a wonderful blend of technical excellence and musicality. After his debut at Carnegie Hall, the New York Times reviewed Scott Kritzer as:
…intelligent and self-assured…with a sure technique and a musical sensitivity, he created an inner life in his playing, a thinking and caring musician.
