Featured Artist Ryan Walsh
After his graduation at the University of Oregon, Ryan decided to follow the call of his passion and went to Spain, the birthplace of the guitar. He met up with Ricardo Gallen, one of the world’s greatest, living classical guitarist, and this set him upon a path that led to Seville’s renowned Conservatorio Superior, and the unsurpassed tutelage of Paco Cantón.
His repertoire is exceptionally wide and varied, and includes Spanish and South American composers, such as Albéniz, Tárrega, Granados, Sor, Villa-Lobos, Barrios, and Lauro, also more contemporary composers such as Roland Dyens and Leo Brouwer. Other notable composers include, J.S. Bach, Scarlatti, Eric Satie, Johann Mertz, Joaquin Malats, Stanley Meyers, Mozart, Aguado, and several of his own pieces! You can check out his website: https://ryanwalshguitar.com/
We are also going to have the Open Guitar Ensemble in which anyone is welcome to participate, and the Open Stage for anyone to play their own music featuring beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Here are the four pieces of music for the ensemble session:
Martin said to his Man, by Thomas Ravenscroft, Arr. by Andrew Forrest
Spagnoletta, by M. Praetorius (1571-1621), Arr. by Andrew Forrest
The Water is Wide, English/Scottish Folk Song, Arr. by Andrew Forrest
Danza from Cancion Y Danza No.1, by Antonio Pipo, Arr. by Derek Hasted
