THE NEXT GUITAR SOCIETY MEETING IS MONDAY DECEMBER 3rd 7-9PM
Venue: Odd Fellows Hall, Corvallis
Free & Open to the Public
Dear Guitar Friends,
As we approach the last Guitar Society meeting of the year, I am delighted to welcome Oregonian David Tutmark as our featured artist. David is a classical guitarist actively performing in the Pacific Northwest and is known for his visceral yet polished style of playing, and consistently delivers captivating performances of traditional and contemporary classical guitar.
Coming from a background in electric guitar and rock, David began studying classical guitar at Portland State University. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in classical guitar performance from PSU, David began a busy performance career, giving over 300 performances between 2012-2015 alone. Today David continues to maintain a busy schedule as a performer and teacher of guitar.
Check out David’s website where you can also listen to some of the lovely music he plays. http://www.davidtutmarkguitar.com/
The December 3rd meeting will also continue the Open Guitar Ensemble where EVERYONE is welcome to bring their guitar and join in. The ensemble music is already posted to the website: https://corvallisguitarsociety.org/ensemble-music-2018-society-meeting/ – download the scores and decide which parts you might like to play, print them out and bring to the meeting. The goal of the Open Ensemble is to perform at the first Winter Guitar Concert which will take place at the Corvallis-Benton County Library on Saturday December 15th. It’s okay if you choose not to be in the concert – still bring your guitar to the Society meeting and join in!
