OSU Masterclass and Concert Friday, February 16th.
Yuri Liberzon will engage the Masterclasses for OSU guitar students at 4:30 pm and you can go visit and watch Yuri Liberzon managing the class for free.
Yuri Liberzon will be performing the Concert at OSU on the same day at 7:00 pm, and this is also available to you to visit for free 😊

Derek Keller and Colin McAllister are our Featured Artists for February 5th – Derek Keller is an award winning composer and performer and Colin McAllister is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado and his performances as a guitarist and conductor have been hailed as ‘sparkling delivered superbly’ (San Francisco Chronicle)😊

Featured Artist Derek Keller and Colin McAllister
Since sparking a musical partnership in 1998 at the University of California, San Diego, Colin McAllister and Derek Keller have performed across the United States and Mexico, presenting eclectic programs original compositions as well as their own arrangements of pieces from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries. They have been featured on notable concerts series, such as the SoundOn Festival of Modern Music (San Diego, CA), the Festival of New American Music (Sacramento, CA), Festival Hispanoamericano de la Guitarra (Tijuana, MX), and San Francisco sfSound, among many others.

Isaac Engel is running the Open Guitar Ensemble in which anyone is welcome to participate. When you look at the pieces, decide which part you wish to play, and maybe let Isaac know ahead of time – his email is [email protected] , and bring the music with you to the Guitar Society meeting.

After School Guitar Program & Community Beginning Lesson
Jacob Ripley and Isaac Engel are continuing the After School Guitar Program free and open to the public. Focusing on mid and high school students, the goal is to raise their awareness and understanding of the guitar instrument by featuring group lessons, private lessons and ensemble music. Jacob also provides Community Beginning Lesson for people of all ages, so anyone can come for this lesson. Feel free to come along and meet up with Jacob and Isaac at their sessions if you are interested, and if you don’t have a guitar, we can lend you one!
Times are as follows: First Monday of the month at Odd Fellows Hall 6:00pm to 7:00pm is the After School Guitar Program (group lesson and ensemble) Third Monday of the Month at Odd Fellows Hall 6:00pm to 6:50pm is the After School Guitar Program group lesson 7:00pm to 7:30pm is the Community Beginning group lesson

Featured Artist Travis Johnson
Travis Johnson
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Travis studied acoustic and fingerstyle guitar from a young age. He performed with local and regional orchestras, competed regionally and nationally, and recorded his first album by the time he was 13. With a generous scholarship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, he holds Bachelor of Music Performance degree with Honors in Musicianship from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Music Performance degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Since 2017, Travis has been teaching music lessons back home in Portland, Oregon. In 2021, he started to design and build an instrument support device that is now the AUX Instrument Support. Between his teaching practice and his new business, Travis enjoys songwriting, composing, and playing music with his friends.
