• Music Scores & Parts for April 1st Society Meeting Open Ensemble Session

    Dear Guitar Enthusiasts,
    Here is the music we will be playing in the open ensemble session at the April 1st Guitar Society meeting at Odd Fellows Hall. Everyone is welcome to come and join in! Take a look at the scores and decide which parts you would like to play, print them out, work on them a bit, and bring them along to the meeting with your guitar. Don’t worry about whether you can play everything, just come along and have fun.

  • The Next Guitar Society Meeting is Monday April 1st 7-9pm

    Venue: Odd Fellows Hall, Corvallis
    Free & Open to the Public

    The featured artist for this meeting will be Brandon Azbill, a wonderful up-and-coming classical guitarist. Brandon is an active performer, teacher, and student in Portland, Oregon and currently, he’s finishing up his undergrad in Classical Guitar Performance at Portland State University. Brandon has already performed with many groups, including Central Oregon Symphony, Central Oregon Mastersingers, Opera Bend, PSU Guitar Orchestra, and as a soloist with the Community Orchestra of Central Oregon. Brandon is a Northwest Guitar Festival Competition finalist. He has been awarded scholarships from Portland State University, Sunriver Music Festival, & Chris Wilson Scholarship Fund.

    The April 1st meeting will also include our OPEN GUITAR ENSEMBLE SESSION. Popularity for this friendly group music session continues to grow, and continues to help bring local guitarists out of the woodwork. The music is posted on this website and includes parts suitable for all levels of playing. Check out the scores online https://corvallisguitarsociety.org , download the parts you would like to play and bring them along to the meeting with your guitar and join in! EVERYONE is welcome.

    7:05 – 7:45 pm Open Guitar Ensemble: check out the music and download from the website.
    7:45 – 8:10 pm Open Stage: share your music with us – all solo guitar styles (or ensembles) and all abilities welcome.
    8:10 – 8:20 pm BREAK and Refreshments
    8:20 – 9:00 pm Featured Artist: Brandon Azbill

    Entrance is FREE and open to the public (donations gratefully received).
    Location: Odd Fellows Hall, 223 SW 2nd St, Corvallis, OR 97333. The entrance is between New Morning Bakery and Sedlaks Boots and Shoes.

    Note: the Requinto part can be played as written on a standard guitar with a capo on the 5th fret. Although the Bass part is written in the bass clef, note-wise it’s equivalent to the bass line of guitar part 3 (treble clef), but one octave lower.

  • Music Scores for January 7th Meeting Ensemble Session

    Here are the music scores and parts for the upcoming Guitar Society meeting on January 7th at Odd Fellows Hall 7-9pm. The Ensemble session will be approx. 40 mins and we will play in this order. Download the music, take a look at the parts and decide which ones you would like to play. Print out your parts and bring to the meeting along with your guitar. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of your level of playing. It’s all about joining in and having fun!
