11:00 am – 12:00pm James Bishop Edwards presents performance and lecture – ‘The Social Guitarist: The Terz Guitar in 19th-century Vienna,’ and featuring Cameron O’Connor.

2:45 pm – 3:30 pm Max Sipe and Peter Tsiorba on board for our luthier expo will play & show the guitars in the Sanctuary.

Connie Sheu – Performance Friday November 15th 7:30 pm
Dr. Connie Sheu is a dynamic guitarist, devoted pedagogue, and ardent advocate of classical guitar. In demand as both a soloist and chamber musician, her playing has been hailed by the New York Sun as “excellent, ruminative… scholarly.” Past performances have brought her to Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, 92nd St, Merkin Hall, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall; venues in Moldova, Italy, Hungary; and across the United States. Dr. Sheu studied at Columbia University, The Juilliard School, and the USC Thornton School of Music. She currently teaches at Pomona College and the Colburn School in Los Angeles.
Tal Hurwitz – Performance Saturday November 16th 7:30 pm
Classical guitarist, Tal Hurwitz has performed and given master classes at festivals around the world, including the Festival Hispano-American de Guitarra (Mexico), Guitar
Foundation of America (USA), Petrer Guitar Festival (Spain), Forum Guitar Wien (Austria), Guitar Art Festival (Serbia), International Guitar Festival J.K Mertz (Slovakia) and Essonne Guitar Festival (France).
He has performed with such orchestras as the New Russian Symphony Orchestra and the Camerata
Salzburg. In addition, he was awarded top prizes as both a performer and composer in numerous international competitions. World class composers have dedicated works for him, such as; Nikita Koshkin, Daniel Akiva, Wulfin Lieske and Ariel Man.
Ensemble Sessions Both Days Prior To The Concerts at 7:00 pm Run by Cameron O’Connor
Cameron O’Connor provides wonderful musical lessons teaching at the faculty of Oregon State University. Guitar Ensemble lessons is one of the sessions he teaches which he then sets up for concerts. He will be leading the Ensemble for 20 minutes on both Friday and Saturday at the Festival prior to Connie and Tal and he has encouraged people to be part of the ensemble both including students from OSU, and guitarists who live in and near Corvallis.
