  • Ensemble Music for August 1st Meeting

    Here are the scores for the music we will be performing during the open ensemble session at the August 1st Guitar Society meeting. Please review the music and download the parts you wish to play, bring your guitar and join in! The open ensemble is zero pressure and just about having fun playing some music together. Full printed scores will also be available at the meeting.

    And one more thing: Read Tom Strini’s interview with Jaxon Williams in the Corvallis Arts Review. Jaxon is an interesting fellow, and he runs down the repertoire he’ll be playing at his Corvallis Guitar Society recital at 8 p.m. Friday, July 29.

  • Ensemble Music for June 6th 6pm Meeting

    Here are the scores and parts for the ensemble music we will be playing at the Guitar Society meeting on Monday June 6th. Please note the ensemble session will begin at 6pm this month because we have the Tavi Janariu Master Class running from 7pm to 9pm. Please take a look at the music and download the parts you wish to play. Take a look at the Greek traditional piece at the end – it might need some practice 🙂

  • Jamie Stillway – Featured Artist for May Meeting

    I am pleased to announce Jamie Stillway will be our featured artist for the Guitar Society meeting which will take place as usual on the first Monday of May, May 2nd from 7:00pm to 9pm at the Lesson Loft at Gracewinds music on 3rd street downtown (please use the rear entrance).

    Jamie is an accomplished finger-style guitarist now living in Portland. She is in demand both as a performer and instructor and has received some great reviews:

     “Mixing up genres without pretension, the nimble Stillway moves freely with wit and creative restlessness.” Jazz Times

    This is an exciting month for the Corvallis Guitar Society as we are very pleased to present the show ‘The Spanish Guitar: from the streets to the concert stage’ on Friday April 22nd and Saturday April 23rd at the Majestic Theatre in downtown Corvallis.   • January 2016 Newsletter

    Dear Friends of the Corvallis Guitar Society,

    We have just passed our first year anniversary and enjoyed a year of more music, open stage performances and guest artists than we dreamed possible when we began this venture. So let’s look forward to what we have in store for the coming year.

    The Board has established two objectives which are:

    • Bring local guitarists out of the woodwork
    • Grow the Corvallis Guitar Society through education and awareness programs and through service to the local community
