Jazz Guitar and Ukulele Workshop & Concert

There are two workshops coming up in Corvallis in September:

Firstly a jazz workshop on Wednesday September 14th at 7:30pm will take place at The Fingerboard Extension on 2nd St. featuring jazz guitarist David Becker. David will be doing an educational workshop on Heritage Jazz guitars. This event is free.

Secondly, Hawaiian Ukulele master Kimo Hussey will conduct a Ukulele workshop on Saturday 24th between 2:00pm and 6:00pm and a concert on Sunday 25th September at 4pm. Both events will be at the Corvallis Friends Meeting House, 3311 Polk Ave. These events will feature Ukuleles made by Corvallis Luthier Pat Megowan. The workshop costs $60 and the concert $40. Dear Guitar Friends,
Thank you to all of you who came to see the Jaxon Williams concert last month at the Troubadour in downtown Corvallis. It was wonderful to hear such a great young talent perform here in town and I am sure this is not the last we will see of him. Jaxon is a Fulbright Scholar who is now heading down to the University of Southern California where he will begin his Doctorate studies with William Kannengiser of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and we wish him all the very best.

Britt Guitar Workshop, Medford OR, Aug 25-28

ROGUE PERFORMANCE HALL: 130 East 8th Street, Building C, Medford

Dive into a four-day exploration of guitar techniques, as seven virtuoso teachers lead students in studies of flamenco, Hawaiian slack key, bluegrass flat pick, classical, jazz, blues and rock. Each day will have two 90-minute sessions, each focusing on one genre and one jam session to explore what you learned with your fellow participants. Beginning and Intermediate tracks are available, as well as an All Access Pass, which allows participants to choose classes from either track each day. Also included for all participants is a special class on basic instrument maintenance and repairs, as well as a full faculty panel discussion.
