Corvallis Guitar Ensemble

Dear Guitarists,

Welcome to the fall season for Community Ensemble! Find out our repertoire and schedule for the fall on this page 🙂

December 13th Performance:

For the December 13th performance, the full ensemble will play just two pieces:
1. In Dulci Jubilo arr. by Andrew Forrest
2. In the Bleak Midwinter by Holst, arr. by Andrew Forrest. Recording.

New opportunity! Duos and Trios:

This season, we’ll try something new! Our ensemble players will have the opportunity to form smaller groups to play together outside of the main rehearsals. This will allow the guitarists who live in Corvallis to play ensemble music without waiting for Salem or Eugene players to make the once-a-month drive, and vise versa. Here are some repertoire choices for smaller groups to play together:

1. A duo piece at a higher level of difficulty than the full ensemble pieces: Vivaldi, A. – Interlude by the Fireside – Opus 8 No. 4 of The Four Seasons. arr. Andrew Forest.
2. Any of these easier trio settings of carols: Ten Carols arr. Andrew Forrest.

Winter Rehearsal Schedule?

We are planning two ensemble rehearsals for the fall:

• October 19th and
• November 16th
• (possible date of November 30th if needed).

These are Monday evenings, and we’ll rehearse from 7:15 to 8:15 in Corvallis.

Thanks for taking the time to read through this, and please send us a quick email at corvallisguitarsociety@gmail.com to let us know if you’re interested in participating.

p.s. if you know others who would enjoy playing in classical guitar ensemble, please share this with them and have them contact us at corvallisguitarsociety@gmail.com
