About Us
The Corvallis Guitar Society was founded in 2015 by local guitar enthusiasts Jon Sharp and Berto Boyd. It has since then been the focal point of classical guitar music—and related styles—in the Willamette Valley area. We are meeting during the school year every month01 for open mic-stage and presentations by a guest artist.
As a 501c3 non-profit organization, we are exclusively supported by grants and donations.
Our Mission
To promote classical guitar and related styles in the greater Willamette Valley area from an educational, appreciation, and performance perspective.
We seek to achieve this through a monthly meeting that provides an opportunity to discuss, listen to, and play solo guitar music including classical, flamenco, finger-style, jazz, as well as classical guitar ensemble styles for people of all ages and all abilities. We also present special events such as concerts and master classes, and will continue to expand our activities going forward.
